VinFast
VinFast is a newcomer to the global market. This Vietnamese automaker, with headquarters in Singapore, has quickly expanded its production from electric scooters to SUVs, and its ambitions have grown as quickly as the size of its products: it has purchased more than 2000 acres of land in Chatham County, North Carolina where it will construct a Stateside factory. The company plans to sell a two-row fully-electric SUV dubbed the VF8 and a larger three-row version, the VF9, here in the United States. While these models will initially be built at its already-existing 827-acre plant in Hai Phong, Vietnam, VinFast plans to press the go button on its North Carolina plant sometime in 2024.
